In the morning at the dining table, the younger ones were chattering among themselves.

But in the middle of all that noiseโ€ฆ

Aishani was quiet.

Not sleepy. Not irritated.

Justโ€ฆ quiet.

She sat at the table, staring at her tea for a few seconds longer than necessary before taking a sip.

Isha noticed first.

โ€œWhy do you look like youโ€™re solving life problems this early in the morning?โ€

Aishani blinked and smiled. โ€œIโ€™m thinking if tea actually wakes people up or if itโ€™s just emotional support.โ€

Isha narrowed her eyes. โ€œYouโ€™re weird today.โ€

From the other side of the table, Revansh didnโ€™t say anything.

His eyes stayed on her for two seconds longer than usual. As if he was examining her like a doctor.

And he noticed.

She wasnโ€™t swinging her legs. Wasnโ€™t stealing food. Wasnโ€™t commenting on his white shirt.

She finished breakfast silently.

โ€œCome. Weโ€™re getting late,โ€ Revansh said.

She nodded.

No dramatic reply. No nickname.

Just a nod.

And for some reason, that bothered him.

At College

The lift was under maintenance, so students were using the stairs.

Aishani climbed slowly, holding the railing.

Halfway through, her steps paused.

The corridor felt longer than usual.

The air feltโ€ฆ less.

She stopped.

Took a breath.

Then another.

Why does it feel so suffocating?

Students brushed past her.

She tried to move again.

Her vision blurred slightly.

And before she realized, her foot slipped.

But she didnโ€™t fall.

A firm hand caught her arm.

โ€œCareful.โ€

She looked up.

Revansh.

โ€œIโ€™m fine,โ€ she said quickly, pulling her arm back.

โ€œYou donโ€™t look fine.โ€

โ€œI just climbed too fast.โ€

โ€œYou were walking like a snail.โ€

She gave a faint smile.

โ€œI climbed Everest just now. Allow me. I was in energy-saving mode.โ€

โ€œThis is one floor.โ€

She glared at him. โ€œSupport me emotionally, not mathematically.โ€

He didnโ€™t smile back.

He watched her face carefully.

โ€œCome.โ€

โ€œI can walk.โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t ask.โ€

He walked beside her till the corridor ended.

Not touching.

But close enough in case she stumbled again.

She didnโ€™t say anything.

Neither did he.

Library

After the lecture, Aishani went to the library to return a book.

The place was calm. Quiet. Almost sleepy.

She liked this silence.

She walked between the shelves, reading random titles without interest, just enjoying the peace.

At the other end of the aisle, someone stepped in.

White shirt.

White coat.

Focused expression.

Revansh.

He didnโ€™t notice her at first.

He muttered, โ€œCardio reference sectionโ€ฆ where did they shift itโ€ฆโ€

Aishaniโ€™s ears perked up.

Aishani turned and walked toward him.

โ€œWhat are you doing standing here?โ€ he asked.

โ€œNothing. Thinking which book to judge by its cover.โ€

He didnโ€™t smile at her joke.

โ€œLooking for something, Sir?โ€

โ€œA book. Third edition. Blue cover.โ€

She nodded confidently. โ€œI know where it is.โ€

He looked mildly surprised. โ€œShow me.โ€

She walked ahead proudly and pointed. โ€œThere!โ€

She stood on her toes to pull it out.

The moment she tugged-

One book came out.

Then two. Then five.

THUD.

A small avalanche of books fell into her arms and onto the floor.

The sound echoed in the silent library.

Both of them froze.

She looked at the mess. Then at him.

He closed his eyes briefly.

โ€œCan you do a single thing properly without creating a mess, Miss. Little Disaster?โ€

She defended herself immediately.

โ€œI swear itโ€™s the bookshelfโ€™s fault!โ€

โ€œHm. Obviously. Aishani Mitra can never make mistakes on earth.โ€ he replied dryly.

She nodded dramatically. โ€œGood. Finally you understood.โ€

She added, โ€œBut I can never make mistakes on Mars too.โ€

He stared at her for a second, then bent down to pick up the books without another word.

She joined him, trying not to laugh.

This time, he took the required book himself.

Safely.

โ€œNext time,โ€ he said, โ€œjust point.โ€

She grinned. โ€œBut then how will we create memories?โ€

He didnโ€™t reply.

But the corner of his mouth almost moved.

Cafeteria

Aishani bought a juice.

She didnโ€™t drink it.

Just kept staring at it.

Revansh entered with two interns, discussing something.

Mid-sentence, his eyes found her.

Sitting alone. Quiet. Juice untouched.

He excused himself and walked to her table.

โ€œAishani.โ€

She almost jumped. โ€œWhy do you appear like horror movie characters?โ€

โ€œI called you twice.โ€

โ€œOh.โ€

โ€œWhy are you sitting here alone?โ€

She looked up. โ€œBecause chairs exist?โ€

โ€œDid you eat?โ€

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€

She paused. โ€œFood.โ€

He exhaled slowly. โ€œAishani.โ€

โ€œDr. Grumpy.โ€

But her voice lacked its usual spark.

He didn't argue.

Just pulled the juice closer to her.

โ€œFinish it.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re not my father.โ€

โ€œNo. Iโ€™m worse. Finish it.โ€

She obeyed silently.

That silence bothered him again.

He went to the counter, bought a paneer wrap, and placed it in front of her.

โ€œEat this too. You didnโ€™t eat breakfast properly.โ€

She froze.

How does he know that?

โ€œYou track my meals now?โ€

โ€œI observe patterns.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s creepy.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s accurate.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t talk. Eat.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t order me.โ€

โ€œThen finish it.โ€

โ€œDon't stare at the food.โ€

โ€œI am doing research.โ€

โ€œWhat Research!?โ€

โ€œHow long food can survive without being eaten.โ€

Revansh exhaled. โ€œDon't test my patience.โ€

She sighed. And she ate.

Then her eyes lit up โ€œCafeteria should have phuchkas here, you know.โ€

โ€œDon't talk while you are eating.โ€

She gave him a look.

โ€œDoctor more activated again.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll look into it. Now eat.โ€ He replied.

With that he left.

Revanshโ€™s Pov

Stairs.

Cafeteria.

Corridor.

Three times in one day.

She laughs it off.

Jokes through it.

But her breathing doesnโ€™t lie.

Her face doesnโ€™t lie.

And today, for the first time

Her eyes didnโ€™t lie.

Something is definitely wrong.

And she is trying very hard to make sure no one knows.

Especially me.

I leaned back on the sofa, staring at nothing.

She thinks I donโ€™t notice.

But I do.

And I donโ€™t like what Iโ€™m noticing.

I know that she is dealing with something by seeing her face. And I need to find it.

Some secrets arenโ€™t spoken.

They are hidden between breaths.

And sometimes,

The person who says the leastโ€ฆ

Sees the most.

โœฟโœฟโœฟ

He hasnโ€™t asked anything yet.

She hasnโ€™t told anything yet.

But the silence and little conversations between them?

Itโ€™s getting louder.

And every clusmy girl like Aishani needs her "Be Careful" like Dr.Revansh. ๐Ÿคญโค๏ธ #ReAshi๐Ÿงฟ
