Aishaniโs POV
Suitcase.
That blue suitcase sat near the door like it had a personal grudge against me. Staring at me with silent judgment.
One week.
Just one week ago, this house felt too big, too quiet like it wasnโt mine.
Now, as I stood there, it felt like something was squeezing my chest.
Tight. Heavy.
Within few months I have bonded well with everyone. This feels like home. I am gonna miss everyone.
Dadi was bustling around the kitchen, her voice louder than usual probably on purpose.
Aunty pretended to be busy arranging flowers that were already perfectly placed.
And Isha.. Isha was beside me, clutching me like I was her favorite teddy bear.
โYouโre really leaving, huh?โ she asked, eyes wide with all the drama she could muster.
I sighed, folding my dupatta carefully. โIโm shifting, not dying.โ
She gave me a sharp look. โSame thing.โ
I chuckled softly, but the laugh felt weaker than I wanted.
Isha let go, folding her arms with a pout. โWho am I supposed to annoy now? Bhai already treats me like invisible air.โ
I smiled. โYou annoy everyone equally. Youโll survive.โ
She huffed. โYouโre stealing my partner-in-crime privileges.โ
Before I could answer, a calm familiar voice broke through the room.
โAishani.โ
I turned towards Uncle standing at the doorway.
โTake care. And if you have any problem, just call me, okay?โ
I smiled warmly. โOkay, uncle.โ
Aunty came forward, placing her gentle hands on my head.
โYouโll come here whenever you feel like, okay?โ
I took her hands, nodding. โSure, aunty.โ
Dadi appeared, pressing prasad softly into my palm.
โBhalo thakish, maa,โ she said with a soft smile.
(Stay well, my child.)
My throat tightened as I answered, โTumi o bhalo theko, Dida.โ
(You also stay well, Dadi.)
Then uncle said to Dr.AngryBirdย โRevansh, drop her safely at her flat.โ
I looked toward the door.
He stood silently, hands in his pockets, his expression unreadable.
Same white shirt. Same calm. Same everything that made my heart stumble.
โCar is ready,โ he said simply.
I nodded. โIโm coming.โ
Isha glanced between us, her eyes sharp but playful.
โDonโt take too long. Bhai hates traffic more than my drama.โ
Revansh shot her a look. โIsha.โ
She zipped her lips immediately, then leaned toward me, whispering, โText me. Every day.โ
โI will,โ I promised softly.
She smiled and hugged me, quietly.
I touched their feet, taking their blessings with a heavy heart.
The house suddenly felt heavier as I stepped out.
When I first came in the house, all was new to me..but now..it's different.
The car door shut behind me with a finality that echoed.
My chest tightened for no reason at all or maybe for too many reasons.
In the Car
The drive was quiet.
Not awkward, just full.
I watched the road blur by, buildings melting into memories.
โSo,โ I said suddenly, trying to lighten the mood, โfinally free from Miss Chaos, huh?โ
His fingers tightened slightly on the steering wheel.
โNot fully,โ he replied.
I scoffed. โWow. High praise coming from you.โ
Silence wrapped around us again.
Then he asked, โYour flat is ready?โ
I nodded. โThe manager said yes.โ
โMostly?โ he prompted.
I shrugged, biting my lip. โMinor issues.โ
He glanced at me sharply. โDefine โminorโ.โ
I smiled nervously. โWeโll see.โ
At the Flat
The building looked unfinishedย patches of paint missing, tools scattered around like careless reminders.
A lift that groaned suspiciously.
Revansh stepped out first, scanning everything carefully.
I walked in confidently, until the manager appeared.
โYou must be Aishani Mitra?โ he asked, frowning.
โYes,โ I replied.
His face twisted. โYour room there is a small problem.โ
My heart dropped. โWhat kind of small?โ
โThe plumbing work isnโt done. A few days maybe two or three.โ
โWhat?โ I exclaimed. โYou said everything was ready!โ
โYes, ready-ready, but not fully ready,โ he said, shrugging like it was no big deal.
Revansh folded his arms, eyebrows raised.
โAnd where am I supposed to stay for those โtwo or three daysโ?โ I demanded, my voice rising.
The manager shrugged again. โNot my problem, maโam.โ
I opened my mouth to argue, words tumbling out.
โThis is unfair! You canโt just--โ
โAishani,โ Dr.Grumpy said quietly, cutting me off.
I stopped mid-sentence.
He turned to the manager. โCancel the allotment. Weโll talk once the flat is actually livable.โ
The manager blinked, surprised. โSir, advance--โ
โIโll handle it.โ
I stared at him, shocked. โYou didnโt have to--โ
He cut me off, looking at me with a sly smile.
โPlanning to stay here, Miss Quarrel?โ
I crossed my arms, frowning. โI was ready to fight. Hmph!โ
He smirked. โI noticed.โ
I huffed. โYou always interrupt my dramatic moments.โ
โSomeone has to.โ
He motioned toward the car. โGet in.โ
I narrowed my eyes. โWhere are you taking me?โ
โTo the moon.โ
My face lit up immediately. โReally? Then why the car? Shouldnโt we take a rocket?โ
He closed his eyes briefly, sighing. โDonโt test my patience.โ
I grinned and climbed in.
Back in the Car
โSo,โ I said, buckling my seatbelt, โtemporary kidnapping?โ
โTemporary solution,โ he corrected, not looking at me.
โSame thing.โ
He ignored me, staring ahead.
โYouโll stay at the house for a few more days,โ he added. โUntil the flat is ready.โ
I blinked. โYouโre ordering me again.โ
โYes.โ
I smiled softly. โYou missed that, didnโt you?โ
He didnโt answer.
But the silence felt warmer this time. Less tense.
Revanshโs POV
She leaned her head against the window, humming softly like she belonged to a different world, softer world.
Leaving.
Staying.
Coming back.
She didnโt realize how much space she already filled.
Without her, the house would have gone quiet again.
But yes. It's a matter of few days only. Then she will be gone.
I kept my eyes on the road, saying nothing.
Back at the House
Isha was the first to notice us.
โYouโre back?โ she said, eyes gleaming with drama.
โFlat issue,โ I said.
She looked at me, then at him, eyes lighting up. โSoโฆ extension?โ
I rolled my eyes. โTemporary.โ
She smirked. โTemporary things tend to stay.โ
I cleared my throat. โIsha.โ
She raised her hands innocently. โWhat? Just stating facts. Coz who knowsโ
Dadi smiled knowingly from her chair.
โBhagoban ja ja koren, bhaloโr jonnoi koren,โ she murmured.
(God does everything for a reason.)
I pretended not to hear the sudden thud of my heart.
Authorโs POV
That night, the house wasnโt quiet.
Footsteps echoed softly.
Laughter floated through the halls.
Doors creaked in familiar ways.
Aishani unpacked her suitcase againย slowly, thoughtfully.
Revansh stood silently in the hallway, listening to the returning chaos.
Maybe it was temporary.
Maybe it wasnโt.
But for now the heartbeat continued.
โฟโฟโฟ
Suitcases, goodbyes, and a little unexpected โtemporary kidnappingโ - classic ReAshi chaos!โค๏ธ๐งฟ
Aishaniโs heart might be packing up, but the real journey? Thatโs just beginning. And Dr. Grumpy? Still refusing to admit he cares. (We see you, Sir!) ๐๐คญ
Sometimes, home isnโt a place itโs the people who make your world messy and magical. ๐ซ
Hang tight, lovies. The rideโs getting bumpy and beautiful. ๐๐
It will get interesting after two-three chapters. You all are gonna love it.
