It was Sunday ..
The Sharma mansion was unusually quiet, sunlight slipping lazily through the cream curtains, casting soft shadows on the marble floors. The house felt almost... empty.
Esha and the rest of the family had gone to attend a relative's function, leaving behind just two souls under the same roof.
Aishani.
And Revansh.
She flopped on her bed dramatically, her legs swinging. "Ughhh, boredom is going to kill me before medical college does," she mumbled, tossing a pillow in the air. After staring at the ceiling for what felt like forever, she sat up with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
She had an idea. A dangerous idea.
Her gaze drifted toward the corridor, where she knew his study was.
"Hmm..." she hummed, grabbing her notebook and hugging it to her chest.
"Why not? Let's irritate Dr. Grumpy today. He can't be buried in his boring files all the time."
With that, she hopped off the bed and padded down the hall, her anklets tinkling faintly.
In the Study
The heavy oak door of Revansh's study was half-shut, the faint sound of papers rustling inside. She knocked once, twice, then pushed it open without waiting for an answer.
Revansh's sharp eyes lifted from a stack of medical journals, his glasses resting low on his nose. The lines of concentration on his forehead deepened when he saw her.
"You!?" he said flatly, voice edged with irritation. "Do you need something?"
Aishani smiled sweetly-too sweetly.
"Yes, Yes, I do. I want to tell you some very important things."
Before he could refuse, she marched inside and plopped herself onto the chair opposite his desk, crossing her legs like she owned the place.
Revansh leaned back in his chair, unimpressed. "Hmm. Continue. I'm waiting for this so-called important information."
She brightened instantly. "Okay, so first of all..."
And then, it began.
"You know, the hospital food is soooo boring. They should seriously serve phuckhas during breaks. Just imagine-doctors in the OT eating phuckhas between surgeries! Wouldn't that be hilarious?"
Revansh pinched the bridge of his nose, already regretting letting her stay.
But Aishani was unstoppable.
"Oh! And yesterday in class, someone said neurons look like little stars. Stars inside our brains-can you imagine? That's so cute! Wait, do you even like stars? Or are you too grumpy for them too?"
She leaned forward across his desk, chin resting on her palms.
"Also... why do you always wear white coats? Why not blue or pink? Pink would look really good on you, trust me. Very... doctor-Barbie vibe.
Actually, no-doctor-Ken vibe!"
Revansh's pen froze mid-sentence. He looked up slowly, his eyes darkening.
"...Doctor. Ken."
Aishani bit her lip to hide her giggles.

Actually, no-doctor-Ken vibe!"
Revansh's pen froze mid-sentence. He looked up slowly, his eyes darkening.
"...Doctor. Ken."
Aishani bit her lip to hide her giggles.
"Oh, and one more thing-do you think if you ever smiled properly, the hospital walls might crack? Because I swear you've been frowning since the day I met you. Like-do your face muscles even know how to stretch upward?"
She burst out laughing at her own joke.
Revansh's jaw tightened.
"What the hell, Aishani!? Don't you get tired? You've been talking non-stop for..." he glanced at his watch, "...seven minutes and thirty-two seconds.
You're basically a human radio!"
Aishani gasped dramatically, clutching her chest.
"Human radio!? Excuse me, Sir! Do you know how lucky you are? Without me, your life would be dull, boring, lifeless!"
Revansh muttered without missing a beat, "And peaceful."
"Haww!" She pouted, folding her arms across her chest. "So rude!"
"This girl..?" he muttered
Her eyes narrowed at him.
"Hmm, this girl-" she pointed to herself with both thumbs "-is your most favorite person in the whole world. Right!?."
Revansh raised an eyebrow, his face completely blank.
"In which parallel universe?"
She leaned closer across his desk, lowering her voice with a mischievous smile.
"Hehe..Just admit it... I'm a blessing to you."
Revansh stared at her for a long second, his face unreadable.
Then, his voice came low. Too calm.
"Enough, Chatterbox."
Her eyes widened like saucers.
"Ch-chatterbox!?" she squeaked, nearly falling off her chair.
"Excuse me?! Did you just... did you seriously call me Chatterbox!?"
He looked at her like she was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yes. You've been talking non-stop about phuckha, stars, pink coats, cracked walls, and God knows what else. If that's not chatterbox behavior, I don't know what is."
Her cheeks puffed up in indignation, her face turning adorably red.
"You're... very bad! Dr.AngryBird at least be grateful that someone talks to you. Otherwise, it's just you and your dusty old files all day. Boring, boring, boring!!
Revansh stood abruptly, his chair scraping against the floor. He fixed her with that deadly calm stare of his.
"Boring is better than listening to a human radio." in a cold voice.
"Ughhh! You are impossible!" she snapped.
Revansh smirked faintly
"And yet..." he glanced at her, eyes glinting with something dangerous and unreadable. "...you keep talking to me. Interesting."
Her mouth fell open. No comeback. Nothing.
Walking around the desk, he stopped right in front of her, his height shadowing her tiny frame.
"Now... go out. And don't disturb me again with your so-called important things."
She stomped her foot like a child, then burst out laughing to herself.
Because deep down... maybe, just maybe, being called Chatterbox by Revansh Sharma felt a little too special.
Her arms crossed, her cheeks still burning. "Ughhh!! That man!! Dr. Grumpy, Dr. AngryBird, Dr. Ken-whatever! Always scolding me" she pouted just like a child.
She marched out of his study with her notebook clutched to her chest, muttering under her breath all the way down the corridor.
The door clicked shut behind her.
For a moment, silence filled the room again. The ticking clock. The faint rustle of papers on his desk.
Revansh leaned back in his chair, exhaling. His lips twitched, the corner of his mouth lifting ever so slightly.
"Chatterbox..." he murmured under his breath, a ghost of a smile flashing across his usually unreadable face.
But the second he heard her anklets jingle in the distance, his expression hardened again. Cold. Stoic.
As if that fleeting softness never existed.
The night air was still and the house was unusually quiet. The family hadn't returned from the function yet, and Revansh had finally found some peace in his study-until a soft knock-knock echoed on his door.
He sighed and closed his eyes already knowing by the sound of her anklets.
"Now what?" His tone was clipped.
The door creaked open before he even permitted.
Aishani peeked her head inside, wearing the guiltiest puppy-dog face.
Revansh's jaw tightened. "Didn't I tell you not to disturb me again?"
Aishani shuffled inside anyway, wringing her hands.
"Uh... uhm... I'm hungry."
His brows shot up.
"What are you expecting me to say? 'Yes, come, I'll feed you like a baby'? Hmm?"
Her mouth fell open in pure shock.
"Haww! Dr.AngryBird! Do you even hear yourself?" she pouted dramatically, stepping inside.
"I just said I'm hungry... I thought maybe you're hungry too. So... we could eat together?"
Revansh returned to his files without a glance.
"There's food in the kitchen. Eat."
Aishani pouted, tapping her foot.
"But I don't want boring food. I want pizza. The cheeeesy, yummy kind."
She clasped her hands together dramatically.
"So... maybe you could order it? For both of us?"
Revansh finally looked up, his eyes sharp.
"No. Absolutely not. Pizza is junk. Unhealthy. Greasy. You're not having it."
"Huhhh, just doctor things," she muttered, rolling her eyes.
Then her voice softened, mischievous. She tilted her head, lips curling into a sly grin.
"But... have you ever tried pizza?"
He hesitated, just a fraction. "No. And I don't plan to."
Aishani gasped, clutching her chest like he'd committed a crime.
"WHAT!? You've never had pizza!? No wonder you're always grumpy, you've been living a pizza-less life."
Before, he could answer she clasped her hands together like a child begging for candy.
He let out a low, irritated growl. "You're impossible."
Her eyes sparkled. "So that's a yes?"
"No," he deadpanned.
She stepped closer, her eyes wide and pleading.
"Pleaaase. Just once. If you hate it, I'll never bother you about it again. But if you love it..." she trailed off, grinning mischievously, "...then you have to admit I was right."
He narrowed his eyes at her big puppy eyes. Silence stretched. Then-he sighed, defeated.
"Fine. One pizza. That's it."
Her squeal echoed through the study like a victory trumpet.
"Yessss! Operation Pizza is successful!"
Half an hour later, the two of them sat at the dining table, a large pizza box steaming between them.
Aishani clapped her hands. "Moment of truth. Here-try this slice." she practically shoved it at him.
Revansh eyed it like it was poison. He glared at the pizza. Then at her. Then back at the pizza. Finally, with a muttered curse under his breath, he snatched the slice and took a bite.
"One bite won't kill you, Dr. Surgeon." she added.
His expression didn't change. Blank, unreadable.
"Well??" Aishani leaned forward, eyes sparkling.
He chewed slowly, deliberately. Then he set the slice down, cool as ever.
"Edible."
Her jaw dropped. "Edible?! That's all you have to say? This is heaven in a box and you call it edible!?"
A faint smirk tugged at his lips. "That's more than enough praise coming from me."
She narrowed her eyes at him, grabbing a slice for herself. "Hmph. You're impossible. Even pizza can't melt you."
He glanced at her giggling face, the way her eyes lit up over something so simple. For a second, just a second, his smirk softened into something warmer.
But of course, Revansh Sharma never admitted such things.
Instead, he reached for a glass of water.
"Stop staring and eat, Chatterbox."
Her jaw dropped again.
"Y-You-! You called me that again Dr.AngryBird!!"
Aishani happily grabbed her slice, eyes twinkling like a child who just got her favorite toy. She took a big bite and let out a dramatic sigh.
"Mmmm... heaven."
Revansh's eye twitched. She looked too happy.
"Stop making that face," he muttered.
"What face?" she asked, mouth full.
"That ridiculous... satisfied face. You look like an idiot."
She giggled.
Revansh shook his head, sipping his water. "It's just bread, cheese, and oil."
She ignored him, munching away.
Then, between bites, she said softly,
"You know... this is only the second time in my life I'm having pizza."
Revansh looked up, surprised.
"Second time?"
"Hmm." She nodded, licking a bit of cheese from her finger.
"First time was back in my village... at a school picnic. Someone had brought it. I still remember the taste-it was so different, so... exciting. Since then, I always wished I could have it again."
She smiled, eyes warm. "And today... you gave me a pizza treat. So... thank you so much, Dr.AngryBird, You made me soo happyy!"
For a moment, Revansh didn't reply.
His glass hovered mid-air, eyes briefly softening at her words.
She didn't even realize how her little stories pulled at him-made him see her not as the annoying chatterbox, but as a girl who found joy in the smallest things.
He cleared his throat quickly, masking the shift. "Don't overthink it. It's not a treat. Just... food."
But Aishani only giggled, leaning closer.
"You can pretend all you want, but I know. Deep down, you're sweet."
"Sweet?" He scoffed, keeping the glass on the table.
"That word and me don't exist in the same dictionary."
She grinned, whispering dramatically,
"Dr.Sweet-but-Grumpy."
Revansh muttered,"This girl and her damn nicknames!"
