By the time Aishani stepped out of the hospital, the city was painted in warm shades of orange and gold, the streetlights flickering on as if welcoming the evening. Every sound the honking of cars, the chatter of people, the distant wail of sirens felt overwhelming. She clutched the crumpled piece of paper her father had given her, the address of one of his friends. It was only temporary, but somehow, this small piece of paper felt like her lifeline in this enormous city.

She hailed a cab, settling in the back seat as her mind raced.

The cab finally stopped, and she stepped out, scanning the street. Which house could it be? All the buildings seemed to blur together, unfamiliar and intimidating.

Then, a splash of color caught her eye a little girl, standing on the sidewalk, selling balloons. Aishani smiled, her nerves easing a little. She approached the girl and bought a handful of balloons, laughing as they bounced against each other in her hands. The girl giggled, and soon they were sharing silly stories and jokes, their laughter echoing softly through the street. For a moment, Aishani forgot the city, forgot her worries lost in a tiny bubble of joy.

Meanwhile, somewhere nearby, Revansh's patience was thinning. He had been honking repeatedly, trying to get someone's attention, but the girl in question seemed completely oblivious. With a frown, he steered his car closer, the frustration evident in the tight line of his jaw.

Aishani, lost in her little world of balloons, didn't notice him until she literally bumped into a tall, broad shouldered figure. She peeked through the sea of colorful balloons and froze.

"You?!" she gasped. Her voice trembled between shock and indignation. "Can't you see where you're going? No, no, wait... are you stalking me?!"

He raised an eyebrow, irritation flickering across his face. "Do I look like a stalker to you? I'm a doctor, not a creep. Get that into your little brain."

Aishani's lips curved into a teasing smirk. "Ohh... so you're a stalker and a doctor? Do doctors even do that?" Her voice was playful, dramatic, and impossible to resist noticing.

Rolling his eyes, Revansh gestured toward the street. "And secondly... why are you standing in the middle of the road with a bunch of balloons like... are you a child?!"

Aishani giggled, puffing out her cheeks. "Hehe... maybe I was on Mars for a while. Totally distracted."

Revansh's expression darkened. "It would probably be safer if I just drove over you."

"Huh?! You dare kill me...?" Her voice rose in mock outrage, making passersby glance curiously.

He ignored her and stepped back into his car, driving off slowly. Aishani shouted after him, "You're a doctor, but your intentions say otherwise!"

She was still holding her balloons, she asked a passing man for the house and was finally guided to the doorstep. She stopped dead in her tracks.

The house was breathtaking. Towering, majestic, like something out of a movie. Her village-born eyes widened in awe, and a little nervousness curled in her stomach.

Pushing the door open, she stepped inside and froze again.

Revansh stood at the center of the room, surrounded by his siblings, who were dancing, laughing, and teasing one another. The moment he noticed her, his eyes widened, his stance frozen for a split second.

Something unspoken passed between them shock, curiosity, a flicker of something deeper.

The entire household turned their attention to Aishani. Revansh's father approached with a warm smile. "So, finally! You're here. Welcome, welcome."

No introductions were necessary. Everyone seemed to know her already. She received blessings from each family member, their smiles warm and genuine, and was shown to the guest room to rest.

As the household returned to its routine, the drawing room was left quiet just Revansh and Aishani.

He approached her slowly, a teasing smirk curling his lips. "Hmm... seems like you followed me here. Such a great little stalker, huh?"

Aishani looked down, her cheeks tinged pink, but her eyes sparkled with defiance. "For your information," she said softly, lifting her gaze to meet his, "I am your father's friend's daughter."

Revansh's smirk faltered slightly, replaced by something unreadable. Curiosity? Respect? Perhaps even a hint of admiration.

For a moment, silence stretched between them, filled only by the faint laughter echoing from the other rooms. Aishani's heart raced. She wasn't sure if it was the thrill of the city, the intimidating presence of Revansh, or something entirely new stirring inside her.
